Opportunities for a New Economy
in the Visayas

Counting Chickens

In early 2016, I decided to take a break from the pace of life in the UK and went to work in the Philippines with ONEVisayas. This is the story of how I put the rat race on hold and bet everything on the Farm.

Having volunteered with ONEVisayas over the last few years, I took the plunge in 2016 to join full-time as IT and Technical Program Director.

My job is to run the IT and comms serving our sites around Leyte, Philippines and the construction projects currently underway at our Integrated Technical Farm in Pastrana.

I'm also working to establish the charity's audio-visual teaching systems in the Farm's newly built Training Centre and in future planned locations, as well as running the website and social media campaigns.

Working for a small NGO in the Philippines, however, the job entails rather more than you might expect! So this is what I've actually been up to.
